LeapFrog Editorial Review

Kids will experience life down on the bayou when they play Leapster’s learning game based on Disney’s “The Princess and The Frog.” Four engaging games will help kids learn to follow directions, complete basic math sequences and equations, recognize letters and begin to build words.

A favorite may be “Cooking with Tiana” in which aspiring young chefs help Tiana cook-up some gumbo by playing several deliciously fun activities. Kids follow simple directions to select, count out and “chop” the right number of ingredients, slide them into the pot and stir for just the right amount of time. And, what’s a good recipe without garlic and seasonings? Kids will “chop” as many garlic cloves as they can before time runs out and then add spices. Parents can join in the cooking fun along with their kids by visiting LeapFrog Connect and printing their child’s rewards such as recipes for Cajun French Toast and Princess Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Kids can practice letter recognition and simple spelling by helping Ray fly through the bayou in “This Way to Mama Odie’s House.” Three progressive levels and an option to race against the clock provide plenty of opportunity for kids to build their ABC skills, while challenging themselves to reach the next level.

All games included in the title help kids collect “Dreamhearts” which they can use to unlock decorations and create a special fairy tale wedding for Tiana and Naveen.
