LeapFrog Editorial Review
Hola! Leapster’s Dora The Explorer game puts kids in the middle of a fun camping and learning adventure complete with river rafting, hiking, and of course, a sing-a-long. When playing the four entertaining games, kids can also learn Spanish pronunciations of fruits, vegetables, animals, colors, numbers and more. And, kids will have a blast steering Dora and Boots’ raft to correct colors and numbers in “Raft to the Rescue.” With plenty of repetition, this game is a great tool for parents to teach their preschoolers these valuable skills. “Campsite Sing-A-Long” is a fun do-together activity for kids and parents because they can join Dora in singing classic children’s songs in both English and Spanish.
When playing each of the four games, kids can collect featured objects in a “Camping Journal” which they can visit and revisit to reinforce the Spanish vocabulary that they are learning. Plus, parents can connect Leapster to their computer to access LeapFrog Connect and print certificates that their child earns. Perhaps they are a “Master Camper” or have advanced to “Expert Explorer.”
